The Sutter East Bay Medical Foundation is a not-for-profit corporation that exists to provide medical services, research and education. The foundation provides the infrastructure for the delivery of physician services and contracts with a separate corporation comprised of physicians and other care providers to deliver clinical services. This multi-specialty foundation will provide a platform from which new physicians can be recruited to continue to provide physician services in a nonprofit, community setting. The Foundation's vision is to create a medical group that will deliver high quality, market competitive medical services.
This position provides direction for the Health Information/Medical Records Departments of Sutter East Bay Medical Foundation, supports the strategic objectives of the organization and ensures compliance to regulatory requirements/statutes. The Manager will be responsible for daily functions surrounding the medical record as well as create policies and establish workflow transition processes during and post EHR migration, to include transcription services. In addition, this position will create policies and procedures related to electronic data transmission, storage and HIPAA regulations, manage electronic health record and act as system administrator for HIMS related IT systems.
Education: - Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or Health Information Management
Experience: - Minimum of five years in a healthcare environment which includes progressive management in health information, communications, analytical and interpersonal skills
Knowledge: - Knowledge of health information, release of information, electronic systems and applications for transcription and dictation systems
- Knowledge of Federal and State regulations guarding the portability and management of protected health information
- Knowledge of computer based information systems, data collection, query, analysis, reporting mechanisms and presentation of data techniques
