Staff Respiratory Therapist - Newborn Respiratory Care
Position Available for Night Shift, 36 hrs/week in our Level III NICU
This vital role is responsible for the assessment and administration of Respiratory Care procedures in accordance with physicians' treatment plans including mechanical ventilation and airway care,
respiratory treatment, and emergency respiratory maneuvers; attendance of high-risk deliveries to assist physicians with intubation/NRP and surfactant administration; responding to pediatric/neonatal emergencies including CPR/NRP; transportation and maintenance of critically ill and intubated patients for special tests and procedures; performance and interpretation of tests/procedures to assess and manage patient care; supervision and guidance of technical Respiratory Care personnel; completion and management of appropriate department documentation; and active participation in both internal and external hospital educational programs and patient care rounds.
The ideal candidate will have an AS/BS in respiratory therapy, registration as a respiratory therapist by the NBRC, ability to maintain NRP certification at all times, and ability to complete at least 6 weeks of department orientation. Candidates must also be able to meet the physical requirements of this position including prolonged walking, standing, occasional running, and frequent transfers of heavy equipment and gas cylinders.
Staff Respiratory Therapist - Adult Respiratory Care
Full-Time Position Available for Night Shift, 36 hrs/week
This vital role is responsible for the assessment and administration of Respiratory Care procedures in accordance with physicians' treatment plans including mechanical ventilation and airway care, respiratory treatment, and emergency respiratory maneuvers; transportation and maintenance of critically ill patients for special tests and procedures; performance and interpretation of tests/procedures to assess and manage patient care; supervision and guidance of technical Respiratory Care personnel; completion and management of appropriate department documentation; and active participation in both internal and external hospital educational programs and patient care rounds.
The ideal candidate will have an AS/BS in respiratory therapy, one year of clinical training (or equivalent), registration as a respiratory therapist by the NBRC, and ability to complete at least 3-6 months of department orientation. Candidates must also be able to meet the physical requirements of this position including ability to lift/carry up to 25 lbs. and push/pull over 100 lbs.
