This month, crew began construction of the new Emergency Center at LBJ Hospital. The expansion of 50,000 square feet of space will add new areas to the EC including units for psychiatry holding, infusion and dialysis.

Manage one or more defined areas of nursing services through which assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care are provided.  Allocate available resources to promote efficient, effective, safe, and compassionate nursing care based on current standards of practice.  Coordinate activities between defined areas and provide clinical and administrative leadership and expertise.  Accountable for the environment in which clinical nursing is practiced such that recruitment and retention of nurses is enhanced.  Responsible for the implementation of the mission, vision, values and standards of the organization and nursing services within their defined area of responsibility.

Position requires graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Bachelor's degree in Nursing, current, Texas RN licensure, certification in a nursing specialty and/or nursing administration within two years of appointment, two years EC clinical experience, and one year of EC management or supervisory experience. Master's degree in nursing or related field  and minimum 5 years EC experience preferred.
