Job Summary
OVERVIEW:
Newly formed 10 Physician Dermatology practice with multiple locations is planning on opening its own in house lab and seeks a Histotechnologist.
REPORTS TO:
Medical Director
GENERAL SUMMARY :
Histotechnologist position for physician owned pathology laboratory located in Park Ridge. Pathology services are related to the practice of Dermatology.
Experience with immunohistochemistry preferred.
Full-Time with attractive compensation package offered.
REQUIREMENTS:
Perform routine histotechnology, including tissue processing, embedding, cutting, and staining of skin biopsies.
Perform routine special stains.
Perform immunohistochemistry stains.
Develop proficiency in all aspects of anatomic computer system.
Accession specimens while maintaining a safe working environment.
File slides and blocks.
Maintain quality processes and records.
Maintain and troubleshoot instruments.
Assist in preparing for and maintaining CAP Accreditation.
Coordinate with Medical Director and ordering physicians.
Other duties as required.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum requirement NAACLS/CAAHEP histology program;
or Associate Degree in a biologic science with 1 year histotechnologist experience;
or High School diploma and 2 years experience in histotechnologist experience
Experience with immunohistochemistry processing of skin biopsies preferred.
