Performs and monitors all tests and quality control in the department(s), operates instrumentation, prepare reagents, and report results according to established policies and procedures. Responsibilities include substituting in the absence of the department manager, training of Medical Technology students in the classroom and lab and assisting with procedure manuals. Communicates with the medical staff regarding patient results and assists with various projects. Prioritizes, delegates and coordinates the technical and administrative functions when necessary. Supervises Medical Technologists, Medical Laboratory Technician, Medical technology students.

Requirements Must have a Bachelors degree in Medical Technology or related field. Must have current Florida Technologist license. ASCP/CLS/NCA certification is preferred. Must have 3 yrs experience as a State of Florida licensed Medical Technologist. Prefer 5 yrs experience. Must be able to teach/inservice. Must have good knowledge of automated instruments and good working knowledge of the laboratory. Must have excellent Communication and Telephone skills. Must have good Computer skills. Must have excellent Customer Service skills.
